Oil Stockpiles Likely to Remain Untapped for Now

The Wall Street Journal -- Prospects have dimmed that major oil consumers in Europe, the U.S. and Asia will drive down prices this summer by collectively making a large injection into the market from emergency oil stockpiles.

Such action, coordinated by the International Energy Agency, looked to be gathering momentum just a month ago following comments from the U.S., U.K. and French government officials. But it has lost some of its political traction and much of its justification, given that supply is up and prices are down without any moves by western governments.

Analysts at the IEA are more confident of adequate oil supply later this year after months of high crude production from Saudi Arabia that will offset any cut in Iranian exports because of the sanctions.

Politically, the odds of IEA action are likely

The media INSISTS that prices are coming down. Not from where I stand in East Idaho! Prices are up 12 cents in the last week.

Jim,

The Strategic Oil Reserves should NOT be used to try and lower gas prices.

There is no need to tap the reserves. It does nothing to help with prices.

Staying that way because the specu-traitors and bo are being allowed to continue at the rape, pillage and gouge mode that they have been in for entirely TOO LONG!

Oil Stockpiles Likely to Remain Untapped for Now? When the price of fuel is too low and to continue to make Huge Profits, then Big Oil will Not tap their stockpiles or reserves and keep their prices high at the pump to keep gouging the public. This is NOT the government's SPR but Big Oil's crude oil stockpile that they know about, it maybe tapped or Not and is still in the ground.
Big Oil continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their benefit.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible!
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

The U.S. is currently pumping more oil than at anytime in the past 8 years and more natural gas than ever before. We need to develop and use more of America's abundant, clean natural gas in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an alternative to oil based fuel. America can become energy independent if we just do it.

We don't need to tap the stockpiles because we have lots of oil, its the refiners who are choking us.

When tankers from Alaska go back to pick up their next load - and the still have oil they couldn't deliver in Washington state because the tank farms were full - I don't think there is a supply shortage....

Until we get nobama out of office in November don't expect him to go out of his way to help out the American people. Him and his selfish wife are in it for themselves.
