If these guys want to pay to close a road and drive their toys -- then I say make them pay, and let them waste their money. But if they do it on public roads when the rest of us are out there, then lock them up.

A speeding ticket is a slap on the wrist for these folks. I say make them do some highway clean up at say the minimum wage until the tickets and the cost of the expense to the tax payer is paid in full. It won't stop them from doing it again, but it will allow them to get out of the 3 piece suits and into an orange jumpsuit.

Bad idea to drive 116 M.P.H. on public roads.

how do u not get arrested when you get stopped going 51 over the limit. Good grief. If you can afford a Lambo, spend a few more bucks and take it for a "track day" and leave the 3 digit driving on the track. That's crazy!

Insulting and quite opinionated about Brooklyn BuckyTJ...! Try visiting sometime. It's also not too easy to hit 116 on that stretch of the GSP in Paramus.

Some how I don't see this happening as much in the future as is mentioned in the article and I'm betting that it would not happen in CA. With all the cross jurisdictions of county troopers and CHP on the interstates it would just get noticed too quickly. Then again the news traffic cameras are always looking for white Bronco's or other things of interest on the freeways.

"The man with the ticket, Joseph Srour, declined to comment for this story when a reporter visited him at his Brooklyn home last week. He also would not discuss the ticket, which was issued by a state trooper on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus. New Jersey’s Automated Traffic System has no record of a ticket being issued to Srour that day, nor does the Paramus Municipal Court. That means the ticket was never entered into the state’s database, according to court officials. State Police Sgt. Brian Polite, a spokesman, would not discuss the handling of the ticket. "My comment is to contact the Attorney General’s Office," Polite said. Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the attorney general, said he would look into the matter. He said late Friday that his office was still inquiring about the ticket."
Now it makes sense that the club member was saying that the one ticket that was received by members that day was "taken care of immediately."

If this was a story about an inter city person racing down the streets, in lets say Brooklyn N.Y. and this person was holding up his ticket with dirty streets and houses in disrepair in the back round.
Would it make it to Gas Buddy's forum? "Fare and Balanced" :)
Are we still trying to divide us? Class warfare at its finest.

First of all, the term 'Death Race' seems a bit extreme. I doubt that any of these drivers actually go out and attempt to score points by running over pedestrians, much as we all would like to do, at times. Second, how many accidents have these individuals been involved in? Did I miss it? I didn't read of any incidents. So, other than a bit of official favoritism, there really isn't any big issue other than envy and greed on the part of people who read about other people doing what they can't afford to do. So, class warfare as usual, then?
BTW, speaking of favoritism, did your company get an exemption from the new national health mandate?

If you are awake, looking beyond the smoke and mirrors, this should not surprise anyone. The attitude of living at the expense of someone else starts at the top our country. The US government is $16 trillion (it is actually at least 10x that) in debt. Our professional politicians tell us we are incapable of understanding the situation and should just leave it to them. Since they created the dire situation we are in today, I have zero belief they are going to correct it.
