Gas prices rise for first time in three weeks
Wednesday, August 27, 2008
The Windsor Star -- OTTAWA -- The average price for gasoline in Canada rose for the first time in three weeks, according to a report Tuesday from a petroleum-industry analysis firm.

The average price of regular gasoline this week, according to Calgary-based MJ Ervin & Associates, was $1.278 a litre, up 0.6 cent from the week before.

Among the 60 communities surveyed, the cheapest and most expensive spots for fuel remained the same as they've been for several weeks. Yellowknife had the highest average of $1.483 a litre, down 1.7 cents from the previous week. Kingston, Ont., drivers were paying the least at $1.167 a litre, up half a cent from the previous week.

Look at these three story titles:
1) Oil price drops below....
2) Gasoline prices hold firm.
3) Gas prices rise for first time in three weeks.

Same story, different day! How can anybody write anything when the prices change so fast and so often!!

Storms in the gulf, holiday weekend, GWB sneezed, Cheney's waving his shotgun around, any excuse to raise prices....

with the storm in the gulf, even those who produce crude in the oil sands of Canada will see the price go up.

Last year price was %2.575, this year, at least 50 cents more. does anyone think taxes will be cut 20%, or that social security will be upped 20%? I wonder what EXXON does with their record profits..

Price of crude has been trading in a range from $112-$118 for a week or so. This is expected.

Keep up the pressure on Washington...Don't let your representatives get away with doing nothing.

The gas prices here have been going down for longer than a month but since its labor day weekend and a threat of another storm coming is causing them to go up again. Last thursday I paid $3.729/gallon but I am so it is at least $.10 more by now. The highest I have paid this year was $4.299/gallon and I know in other parts of the nation it was much higher. It really has put a damper on summer vacations. I really feel bad for the kids that are stuck at home or the parents for that matter that are stuck with them.

Jumped 19 cents over the weekend, only to fall 14 cents since Sunday. WHich is an increase of a nickel. It makes me mad, if they want to raise it a nickel, why not just do that, instead of up 19, then down 5, down another 5, then down 4.

Shell has cut rates to $3.49 to all Cleveland stations. So one that is 6 blocks away got me stopping for 5 gallons just to tell them to stay low. That much advertised Texas oil company Valero is still the highest in town at $3.70.
