EPA Official Resigns For Saying EPA Should 'Crucify' Oil Companies

NPR -- Al Armendariz, who oversaw the oil-rich South Central Region of the U.S., was criticized heavily by Republicans because of a 2010 speech in which Armendariz — making an analogy to the ancient Romans — says his regulators should "crucify" oil companies that are not complying with the law to make an example of them and make sure other companies do follow the law and "clean up."

And how about the EPA finding zero water contamination from hydraulic fracturing???

Lisa Jackson, head of the EPA, "I'm not aware of any proven case where the fracking process itself has affected water."

Yet they continued to pursue fervently their 'crucification' process.

Sounds like soda and others would have a problem if the official even used the word "spank".....

So much for the law and order crowd.

This guys 'apology' was also very exposing in that he only regretted his "poor choice of words". Armendariz is just another example of a liberal saying what liberals believe when their handlers let them off their leashes! He never denied that what he said is not what he believes.

Range Resources was recently targeted for 'crucifiction' by Armendariz and Obama's EPA. After an environmental activist rigged his spigot to his gas line and lit it on fire to claim that there was gas contamination from wells drilled by Range Resources, the EPA jumped on the case and began prosecuting. From the get go that case was obviously a fraud. Repeated reports by the State of Texas showed no contamination from Range Resources' wells in the water table. But the EPA pushed forward with plans to "crucify" Range Resources anyway. Range Resources did not back down and fought. The fraud was exposed and the EPA had to dismiss its case. But not before costing Range Resources millions to defend itself. You can bet that liberals like Armendariz were seething over this!

Actually you see more examples of idiocracy (GOP EEG flatlining) soda here....

Truth hurts the GOPsters so they run away from it every time....

I remember when the GOP was for "law & order".... but that was decades ago. If companies break the law, they should be taken to task immediately..... not coddled, primped and serviced by the 21st century GOP.

Seems the cons now don't want to hurt corporate business feelings --- that uncertainty thing -- because it will prevent them from cashing in later when they go from "government" to the corporate brothels....Actually, everything that isn't Newsmax/Faux/or Alec is a left-leaning organization to FPLREP.

As to wanda, glad you want middle class tax hikes....to bad you didn't notice all of them in the Ryan budget... and you big problem with facts about Obama... The GOP economically nuked California and the nation --- and you want that again???? Curious.

Soda continues to have factual and target acquisition problems --- that would make Clarence the cross-eyed lion look like a hawkeye....

jcurley--- the GOP is nothing but a whine and cheesy club now...

I agree GT3186 & bigt61. How can anyone think Obama is so good to the middle class & working man! He's caused so much destruction of the American system & destroying our U.S. Constitution that I just hope it can be repaired!

The posts below in support of this moron and Obama are further proof of our Ineptocracy.Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing; and, where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Another republicon hit job, by hyping something taken out of context.

The administration should tell the republicon whiners to shut up and suck it up.

Never would happen due to separation of church and state.

Crucifixion in not humane or approved for capital punishment...

though it would likely scare the hell out of a lotta folks if there were a few public displays of humiliation for petty repeat offenders

It's his former boss at 1600 Pennsylvania Av that should resign! This guy was just parroting official administration policy and tactics.

It is interesting, yet not surprising, that National Progressive Radio didn't waste any time blaming Republicans for this fiasco. Maybe they can hire Armendariz as a commentator.

Hey GoBlazers, if you think Obama is your friend or the friend of the working man, you're a fool. If your idea of making a good living is a welfare check, feel free to vote for him again. The majority of people are really tired of the Hope & Change scam.

"November 6 2012 Lets get our house in order."

And you're going to do that how? By electing a multimillionaire who hates you and the rest of the middle class, and probably has no idea what gas costs right now? By electing a deluded fruitcake who wears magic underwear? By voting for someone who thinks he's a "regular guy" because sometimes he looks up from his Wall Street Journal and out the window of his limo or private jet for a few seconds to see if the trees are the right height?

Yeah, good luck with that.

Its funny (sad) that when these politicians slip up and show their true objective, they expose them selves to what they are all about and the truth is known. I just hope that the rest can be ridden of from the plight of this country.

Al Armendariz can NOW be the example of what should happen to EPA bureaucrats for thinking that they are above the law.

Comparing his bureaucratic empire to Roman troops sacking Turkish villages and intimidating the locals by torturing the leaders to death was probably not the best of all possible analogies.

Buh-bye, dumbass. Back to the university you go, where you can resume your career pretending to be smart.

Because "corporation/people" shouldn't have to obey laws, only real people should.
