List any gas coupons here that you know of that anybody can easily pick up and where they can be used:

I'll list 2 I use off the web:
1) 7 cents off per gallon at Shoreview Diagnostic Center available on
valpak.com (Saint Paul area)
2) 4 cents off per gallon at freedomvalu.com

Obviously besides being accepted at these stations themselves, I have found that Rainbow, Kicks 66, and PDQ also accept these. Even Holiday has been accepting them lately! Wonder if the threat of having gas buddy legal experts check into Holiday's advertised policy of accepting ALL competitors had anything to do with it? :)

goldieolds and others - Once you get to the actual coupons from the "View Print Mailer" link, I'd recommend not using the "Print" button. Instead, use the right-click function in your browser to get to the image. Depending on the browser, it might be "View image" or use "Copy image location" to paste the URL so that the image itself will open (by itself). Once you've got the image only, you can then print without restriction so you can adjust your printer settings, adjust the zoom factor in your browser's print dialog, etc.

I've had a heck of a time trying to get the 20¢ of w/ inside purchase coupon. I've spent over 1 1/2 hours working on it. Partly (a big part) b/c of this antiquated system I'm using with dial-up, but also b/c the valpak link was very confusing. I finally got the full layout to show up by clicking on "View Print Mailer".

It looked like my printer was set on econo print, so the fine print is near impossible to read. I tried reprinting it with my printer set to standard, but couldn't get it to print again. It looks like maybe they're limiting the number of times to 1, that it may be printed, but I'm not sure. Can't spend any more time fooling with it, but wanted to alert others to try clicking on "View Print Mailer". The top of my paper says "Valpak Mailer Offers Printed from Valpak.com on 04/16/2014", so hopefully that will show that it is current. After all this, I hope they'll honor it.

Clicking on "More EXXON - ELK RIVER coupons' link" just brought up something else, w/o the one I wanted. It might work for someone else, but it didn't work for me.

Swanson4104 - I just walked through my Feb. 7 instructions. It appears they've changed the verbiage and "Click on the 'More offers' link." should now read "Click on the "More EXXON - ELK RIVER coupons' link". Everything else is the same.

Thanks, DI. I needed it,too. But it prints very small, so the conditions are not really readable, and I don't know how to make it bigger. I hope they accept it - will give it a try.

Swanson4104 wonders "Has anyone found any current printable coupons for 20 cents off with any inside purchase?"

Use the instruction I posted here on Feb 7, 2014 10:17:12 PM. The current ones expire 06/10/2014.

gasboy, I would have asked her to call the manager so I could talk to him. Actually I have done that. As I recall, it didn't work that time, but maybe it would have for you. If it is something like that, that they have done in the past, and should do, I don't feel bad bothering the manager at home or wherever he is.

This happened at the time when they were accusing certain internet coupons of being fake, even though we knew they were not.

I also pretty much stopped going to that particular SA (where I had your experience) and going to other ones where they have been nicer about accepting my internet coupons.

At one time, I had a copy of their coupon policy in my car. But trust me, she was not going to let me use it even if I had a copy of their policy. She was told by her manager and nothing was going to change her mind unless her manager had been there to overule his/her edict.

I emailed corporate to voice my displeasure. It worked once before, but I'll never know how this one goes because I'm done.

Gasboy - It's easy for me to say because I wasn't there, but it would have been cool to hand her a copy of SA's coupon policy and threaten to drive off unless they honored your coupon.

Or how about one more gas purchase and pay her with a $#!+load of pennies.

I'm officially done with S.A. in Newport. Coupon rejected again last night. Cleark stated she was told by the manager not to accept internet coupons. No amount of pleading was going to change her mind.

I had been asking before pumping, but I was in a hurry last night and since they had been taking them recently, I pumped before attempting to use.

I appreciate the thought, dlr17.

A) I haven't spent a penny at any SA in a decade or more and don't intend to start again anytime soon. You choose to zing them by jumping through their hoops to get ridiculously cheap gas. I choose to zing them by not giving them any of my money at all. Choice is good.
B) I do use other higher value coupons whenever I can.

I was commenting more on the niftyness of discovering I could get a second (and third) coupon at the pump at that station. The larger point is that we should all ask ourselves where else might we look for a new or undiscovered coupon or combination of coupons and promotions to save a buck.

I was in a bit of a pickle. After a 70% spike prediction for Monday, here it was Tuesday afternoon and still no spike. I knew it was coming, my tank was low, and I was heading to work. I didn't happen to have a coupon with me and I used the app to find cheap gas in the northeast metro. I am familiar with this station and in general like spending my money there. They were my cheapest option without going out of the way. I was aware that various coupons and offers are available to print at the pump but discovering I could triple dip during that pumping session was a nice bonus.

rjgimp, why not print a 20 cent coupon from Valpak using DI's instructions below, then get it doubled on a Tuesday for 40 cents off per gallon at a station that doubles coupons? If you use it as SA along with their rewards card, you can get another 3 cents off per gallon (or 10 cents at select stores). If you prepay for an SA gas card and use that to buy your gas, you get an extra 3 cents off per gallon. Then you get points on the rewards card for buying gas and merchandise, including points for buying the pre-paid gas card. When you accumulate 8750 points (I do about every 4 months), you can print a coupon for 50 cents off per gallon, which gets doubled to $1.00 off per gallon on Tuesdays. They will combine this with the rewards and fuel card discounts for an extra 6 (or 13 at select stores) cents off per gallon, but will not combine it with a competitor's gas coupon.

So, last night I stopped at the BP on Hodgson and 96 in Shoreview. As you pump there is a scrolling set of offers for coupons to use in their store on several items. One is for an oil change for $18.99, another for 75 cent hotdogs, etc. It starts with a 5cents off per gallon coupon. They are printed right at the pump. You have a few seconds to decide if you want it, then the next offer appears. I was there pumping long enough to discover that the offers eventually scrolled back to the 5cent gas coupon and I was able to print three of them. I used one for that purchase which got me down to $3.36 a gallon.

I paid the equivalent of $2.99/gal tonight after a savings of $5.66 tonight on 12.3 gals. Went out of my way a bit to go to a station that was charging $3.44.

I love that Circle K / Exxon / BP coupon for 20¢ off which is then doubled to 40¢ off. I had a lot of trouble finding it, though. The direct link no longer work. I followed DI's instructions but couldn't find it. Was resigned to having to take only a 10¢, but finally found the missing piece. Of course, DI had stated it in his directions, but I'd missed seeing it. In case anyone else is having trouble accessing it, be sure to follow this step:
"• Scroll to the bottom and click on “View Print Mailer”. (The print mailer has many more coupons than the few listed on the page.)"

These don't expire until 5-10-14.

At first the cashier said I had to buy a minimum of $5 inside, but I said I didn't think it meant that, the way it is worded isn't clear, though. I think it means $5 minimum total purchase (inside or gasoline) and I'd bought more money on my fuel card, inside. I told him that last time they counted that as my inside purchase (true). At first he didn't want to do it that way, but after studying the coupon for a while, decided to do it. He was nice about it, just trying to figure out what was the right thing. I was prepared to buy a hot cocoa if I had to, but really didn't want all that sugar, so was glad not to have to. But a $5 inside purchase would have wiped out the savings.

I noticed that many of the SAs in the area I looked at on the GB map were down to $3.49 from $3.55 Monday night. Not the pattern that cgroveguy noted.

Beginning March 1, there’s a new Speedpass Wave and Save promotion which allows you to receive a rebate of 25 cents per gallon for your first three fill ups (up to 20 gallons each at participating Exxon & Mobil stations) for 60 days once you register.

RoadRebel - Like the coupon flyers you may get in the U.S. Mail at home, newspaper flyers are “zoned”. That is, the vendor selects what area they will be distributed.

Both Holiday and Kwik Trip include flyers on the first Wednesday of each month in the two dailies. While I suspect you’ll find a Holiday insert in every paper you buy in the metro area, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Kwik Trip one is not included in areas like the two central cities (since KT has no stations there).

I’ve not seen Freedom Valu Center flyers locally and I suspect that that flyer may have come from Wisconsin. Because of court interpretation of Wisconsin state law, coupons there are for a flat amount, rather than so-many cents per gallon. For example, the online Holiday coupon includes the verbiage “in AK, MI, & WI, only good for 75¢ free gas”. Since you saw this at the VA, it’s certainly a possibility that someone from western Wisconsin may have brought it in.

Not all Holiday stations double coupons on Tuesdays. Also, you have to ask to have the coupon doubled before you pay for your gas, otherwise they won't double it. There might be some SA franchises that don't double coupons.

RoadRebel: Seems like allot of work to save 25-40¢ off per gallon when you could save 20-40¢/gallon all day everyday with a 20¢ coupon that you print off from Valpak.com (link below).

On Tuesdays you can double the coupon at SA, Holiday and many other stations.

I have a coupon question... I don't get the daily newspaper but I found one a couple weeks ago when I was at the VA and inside was a sheet of Freedom coupons. There were 2 coupons for $1 off a fillup, and I think 8 more for 75¢ off, no minimum required. So I have been having fun hopping from station to station putting in only a couple gallons and getting anywhere from 25-40¢ off per gallon depending on how much I put in. Does anyone know if these coupons are in the paper every month and do you remember what day of the week they are in the ads? Thanks

Thank you again all. Just plopped almost 28 gallons in my 2 cars this morning & saved 20c/gal * 2 for 40c off/gal + another 3c/gal for rewards card & what still cracks me up is another 3c/gal off for using the fuel card which I get extra pts for in the rewards program. Total savings today of exactly $12.96 for just printing off a coupon & going inside to pay. Figure that weekly plus every so often acquiring the 50c * 2 rewards coupon & my water bill is paid for each month. Or most of my XCEL Energy bill. thank you! :)

Also - maybe this has nothing to do with it but have you noticed that SA kicks its gas price up every Monday now? I swear it didn't used to be so regular but now every Monday I get a text (Kwik Trip sends these out) stating gas prices are jumping so to fill up ASAP! Kind of interesting it is always the day before the double coupon day.....I'm just saying...

Have a great week all!

To add some details to sleepyhollowtoo’s instructions:

• Use this link: valpak.com for groceries in 55108 (55108 is basically in the center of the metro area and c-store coupons are in the grocery category).

• Enter “exxon” in the search box. (No need to use “ExxonMobil” which does not have an “e” at the end.)

• Click on the “More offers” link.

• Don’t be surprised when “Falcon Heights BP” comes up. Locally, Circle K stores sell BP-, Exxon-, and Mobil-branded fuel.

• Scroll to the bottom and click on “View Print Mailer”. (The print mailer has many more coupons than the few listed on the page.)

The path is: go to Valpak, then edit to the city (Maple Grove, Blaine, Elk River, etc) that is listed on the previous coupon and look for coupons for that city then it will show up under Exxon Mobile.

Please note: Valpak is with a K not a C as I previously posted.

dlr17: you may want to save that page or print multiple copies now, because the link probably will go away in march or sometime when you need it most.

Yes, thanks DI. I love that 20-center, with inside purchase. And to those who didn't catch it before, you may be able to use the money you add to your fuel card as your inside purchase.

Thanks, DI. I didn't see a link posted earlier. I searched all 189 of the local coupons on valpak.com, but didn't see any 20 cents off coupons, nor any Circle K coupons. It looks like they may have been under Exxon/Mobil. Now, after reading your latest gas price speculation post, I'm off to the gas station for a wallet cleaning.

I am wondering if there is an updated link to a new $.20 Circle K coupon with purchase inside. I know the old one doesn't expire until Feb 10, but I was looking to see if there is a new one before next Tuesday.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks cgroveguy, DI and others! I'm very pleased with my gas savings today, which I owe totally to y'all, except for me taking the time to prepare. :)

Most of the stations that I passed today were in the 3.24 to 3.26 range, but thanks to the GB maps, I knew that there was an SA not too far out of my way.

Thanks to DI I had the Circle K coupons that included the one for 20¢ off with any inside purchase. DI, if you hadn't' mentioned it, I probably would not have noticed the fine print saying that was what it was for, and I would have thought it was with a car wash, and ignored it. Being "terrific Tuesday", it was doubled to 40¢ off.

Thanks to cgroveguy I used loading some money onto my fuel card as my inside purchase. I wouldn't have thought of that and probably would have spent a little extra to get a drink that isn't good for me.

And thanks to Bungee and others here previously, I knew to get and use the Fuel Card and Rewards Card, for another 6¢ discount.

My price ended up being $2.69 a gallon, and DI's minimum selling price for today was $3.16.

I have used the Circle K coupons on tues, since they came out. Only location that hassled me and refused it, saying it was a Photoshop was good old Lac Lavon/ Burnsville location about a month ago. Had to double a $.25 SA Rewards coupon. I think they have refused other people before also. Mine was about a month ago, and only went there because of being in the area and it was the cheapest at the time. I have successfully used it in other Burnsville locs., Hastings, St.Paul, Inver Grove.

I've had no purchase required, to a St. Paul paper ($.50) Bananas, a drink, etc. YMMV

Thanks, cgroveguy! SA's coupon policy includes a link to the (currently) 191 SA's who participate in "Terrific Tuesdays".

FWIW, other promotions seem to indicate there are currently 240 SAs so 49 are not participating in "Terrific Tuesdays". As cgroveguy mentioned, most outstate SAs are franchises (which are less likely to participate).

And, as always, YMMV depending on the individual store, clerk, etc.

Thanks you cgroveguy. I should have been more specific: I'm wondering if they'll take it when it is a competitor's coupon. Or maybe you knew I meant that and that is what you were talking about?? Guess I'll find out later today, unless I decide it's just too cold to worry about saving money. I'll be in the city of Minneapolis, most likely.

I have used the 20c off w/inside purchase at SA many times. If you start to head out of town watch out as many of those SA's are franchises that oftentimes do not honor the coupons. Sometimes my inside purchase is to reload my fuel card which cracks me up. I admit I do get a mt dew 69c cup often with my 7th purchase free. Still worth it whatever you purchase. 20c off * 2 for 40c off compared to previously I was only using a 10c * 2 for 20c off total - my car is only a 10 gallon tank & my wife has a 17 gallon tank but the difference on Tuesdays of 20c * 10 gallons = $2 - I'll take it.

Again thanks so much for posting all the tips & coupon links!

Have a gr8 week!

Does anyone know if SA honors the Circle K (14 locations) coupon for 20¢/gal. off (w/ inside purchase, 20 gal. max) and will double it on Tue?

What are the cheapest things for sale inside?

Double Coupon Tuesdays
Even the competitors

Fuel Coupons (“Coupons”) must be original, no copied coupons will be accepted. No expired coupons will be accepted. Restrictions on the coupons will be followed, (Example: 5¢ off a gallon with a car wash purchase). Discount cards, similar to “show and save”, will not be honored as a physical coupon is required. Online coupons are accepted as long as they are legitimate coupons from a legitimate competitor, not expired, and we will honor the verbiage on the coupon. No, Kwik trip does not double coupons. When I buy something there, they ask if I got any gas. I always tell them "no," because I got it at SA for so much less with a doubled coupon and SA Rewards discount. I tell them the net price I paid there, and they always act surprised that I bought gas for that price.

It had been a while, but went to Blaine SA at Cty 14 and 65 and redeemed 8,750 SA points for the 50 cents off reward, which doubled to $1 per gallon. Filled up both vehicles and a couple gas cans to get the full 25 gallon discount allowed.

$3.14 - pump price per gallon
$.03 - My SA rewards card discount
$.03 - SA Fuel gift card discount
$1 - SA reward coupon (50 cents off per gallon doubled)
5% - Chase Freedom cash back (gas is 5% cash back this quarter)

$1.98 - FINAL PRICE. :)

Needed lots from the Pharmacy today, so I filled up with my Cub card afterwards and got gas for $2.60 per gallon, that's 55 cents off. :>)

I missed that detail, hope you don't!

Thanks DI!

DI or whomever has the ability to fix things, the Circle K link you re-posted on 12-4 is not working again. Someone must not like it!! It still can be found via Valpak.com
