cars are sooo good that i don't replace anything, but oil, brakes, and tires.i have almost no need for my old friend and mechanic.think of all the equipment your car has today,i never had an air conditioner until 1988.now i have a hybrid with stability control, traction control, gauges and readouts on the dash to tell you everything.a pickup truck with all wheel drive that i can lock all differentials and make it a true 4wd.a crew cab and a huge trunk under the bed.i could go on all day,but all that stuff is expensive.i paid almost 2x what i paid for my first house for 2 vehicles.they should be good.

That just means that there are more features for the higher price tag. Now the auto manufacturers want to make the car a mobile communications platform so they can reaise the prices even more. SO when you to take you car in; is it for mechanical reason or elevctronic reasons?

It seems like the additional features once enjoyed by the rich are available in standard everyday cars.

New cars are throw away items, especially FWD, disposable, not rebuildable. It's part of the safety features now, they crumple instead of being rigid, you throw it away and get a new one.

When you can't afford to buy a new vehicle every couple of years it makes the one you have seem all the better - especially if it is paid for!

"New Car" satisfaction doesn't impact me much. I tend to buy used. So, it will be a while before I experience the 'new' cars of today.

They really do make 'em better than they used to. I think the worst cars ever made were those of the early 1970s. You could rely on them to rust out in 3 years and to be difficult to start in cold weather.
