Continuing curiousity has certainly shaken my previous certainties about a lot of things. Good on you! as they say down under; that one paper on natural gas will keep you going for several hours. If you want to go exploring on some real science and math--and minutely observed as well as postulated stuff, I suggest Dr Tom Murphy's fascinating blogsite at http://physics.ucsd.edu/do-the-math/ I'm not an engineer, and much of the detailed math is beyond me but I can follow much of the trends. That one site was a real wake up call for me, more so than opinion sites ever could be. That site could likely keep you going for weeks just reading, and following up on the bits that catch your attention in it, and 'testing the conclusions out' through other sources. Best thing is--he knows and admits he is not a genius or a real expert, (just a teacher) and he does have a sense of humour.
