TustinDad, Not arguing the number of rigs, and oil output, but just what is the bummers hand in it? The number of permits issued by the government since Oh-Bow-Ma took office is down by about 60%, it is the drilling on private lands in the Dakotas that is up. Oh Bummer was even chastised by a Fed. Court for foot draging on issuing permits in the gulf!!!

If you want facts, why not look at the Baker Hughes data and here for the EIA data. If FOX does not give you this, change channel to something less biased.

This disaster will not fade away--as many were killed & much oil spilled & wildlife lost their lives.

We have no shortage of oil, but incidents such as the Saudi pipeline bombing, the mysterious "accidental" car crash near Chicago, and the perceived nuclear threat from Iran are all used as tools to artificially inflate the price.

I guess the rednecks and FOXNews won't give Obama any credit for this. Under his leadership, domestic oil output is at an eight year high and we have more oil rigs deployed than the rest of the world put together.

When you own the well you can sell it to who ever you want at their asking price. Some countries will pay anything just to get it. We need higher export tarrifs.

Put a surcharge on gasoline exported, this should help them to keep enough gasoline here to keep the price down!

More deep water drilling will not decrease the price. It's anti-economics.

This has been going on for years. Oil companies discover more oil ever year and more oil is pumped out of the ground, yet the price of crude stays high because of speculators.

It is good that the drilling is intensifying, but remember that eleven people lost their lives on that rig.

I'm sure that drilling in the gulf is so much more safer now. Tic Toc. It's just a matter of how long before the next time.

milespergallon avers:
'A better for the future is start mass producing the conversion kit to switch to Natural Gas AND get the HYDROGEN Alternative Fuel Based Vehicle'
This is putting the cart before the horse. Without building a very, very expensive fueling infrastructure FIRST, the car conversion is a waste of money.
Incidentally, hydrogen fuel is decades away, plus, unlike natural gas, its not even an energy source.
