Read something today that said what is termed 'adult acne' is sometimes rosacea. Might want to check into that.

If you can answer a few more questions I can provide some more info/ideas for you: Where is the oil problem? --entire face? or? is it oily all the time? seasonal?; Where is the acne entire face? patches?--are we talking zits/w heads?) and/or blck/white heads? What is your current skincare regimen? What products do you use and how often?

Couple quick pointers.... excessive rubbing..thinking if you scrub it good and hard it'll come clean/change...wrong...it irritates and makes it worse. Be gentle...avoid products with heavy abrasive cleansers.

Dermatologist can prescribe antibiotics that help and I guess they still perform the procedure to remove the puss from the pimples. There are drying medications that can be prescribed, too. Lot of Drs recommend washing with an anti-bacterial solution (cannot remember the name of it right now). But, I agree with Dr Trouble, to see your dermatologist.

If just the occassional pimple, I highly recommend the sulfa based Blemish Buster product by Principal Secrets (can purchase on QVC). That product dries up a small pimple overnight, but not sure it would be economical for the entire face. When I was young, the dermatologist gave me a sulfa based product to dry up pimples, too.

The problem with acne is really the bacteria on your skin likes to eat that oil, and the byproducts as well as the bacteria can cause irritation to the skin or clog up the pores.

Oil and Acne are not necessarily the same thing.

Acne is treated one way. Oil in another.

Consider seeing your doctor.
