I like physics but at times it can be a challenge (I think that's why I like it so much). I'm majoring in it, but I don't know if I will stick with it... I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, I'm very indecisive.

I enjoyed physics, even though it wasn't easy. I had a little trouble figuring out what my professor was talking about one quarter though. He was fresh from England to Athens, GA and didn't talk like us. I remember thinking "aluminium" was kind of funny. But, I'll have to give him credit for being one of the best instructors I had.

I am always fascinated by physics and astronomy. One day, I hope time machine or warp drive will be my invention.

I found Physics very challenging and worthwhile. I wish I had a better professor though.

Most American students are either to lazy, or don't have the brais it takes to master physics...

1st semester Physics: Static and Dynamic Forces... boring as hell!
2nd semester Physics: Electromagnetics and Quantum Magnetics... OH YES!
3rd semester Physics: Solid State Physical Electronics... OH H*LL YES!

You know you've arrived in Physics when you have a constant named after you. Name that Physicist? (xma nacpkl)

trinda1: "Can someone tell me what does Physics applies to in the work force, and what does it pertain to?"

lol, interesting choice of words,,, talking about a "work force" when discussing physics… ;) But seriously, physics is such a broad category, that there will be just about at least a small part of physics in every field, and if not directly, it will be in the background, as physics also teaches a person to think, looking at a problem in the big and the small subset parts, and their interactions. I didn't like the first semester of physics, as discussions regarding forces, weights, velocity, etc. did not interest me at all,,, whereas the 2nd semester was quite enjoyable, as topics related to electromagnetism, light, electricity, etc were gone over. And that stuff is awesome, IMHO. So, back to the OP,,, yes it is hard, and it is also easy - the 1st semester, for me, sucked, was hard… whereas the 2nd semester rocked.

My Nephew major was in engineering. He was so good in Physics that his professor tried to get him to change his major to Physics.

I took two Physics classes at the university and I did "B" work, because I had a great professor. The Labs were more fun than the lectures. So what else is new?!

scoots2011: Many physics majors end up becoming quantitative research analysts (or "quants") or traders in my industry and end up making significant amount of money.

Personally, I found Newtonian Mechanics and Optics easy, but had harder time with Electricity/Magnetism and, especially, Quantum Mechanics difficult.

scoots2011: It's her choice what she wants to do. Your definition of a "good job" may be different from hers. As long as it's what she wants, just be happy for her.

Physics is a good major if she enjoys it. Well at least there is money in this field.

My niece is going to Princeton next year with a major in physics. Wish she would do something more conducive to getting a good job. She makes 100's in private school in Austin.
