Congrats to the Boston Red Sox on their sweep of the Rockies for a WSC, I should have seen it coming with the long lay off. sorry Westernlobster not a Rockies fan just were picking them to win it, guess I need to become a meteorologist now & give up trucking, die hard Tigers & Cubs fan. I feel that if teams sweep in the LCS they will lose the WS it happened to Detroit last year the only difference was Detroit won a game. hopefully Detroit gets their next year & Rogers can break the record for the most scoreless innings in the playoffs.

I am really glad that I recorded the entire World Series. Now when I am having trouble sleeping, I'll just pop in one of the games and zzzzzzzzzzzz---instant snooze!
On another note, my team, the Cincinnati Reds have made many, many bad decisions in their history, but Dusty Baker has to be the absolute worst. Of course Reds owner Bob Castellini will be spending a large portion of his day today with our fine commander in chief, Mr. George W. Bush. So, I guess those who make bad decisions stick together, eh?

Red Sox outslugged them when needed and outpitched them when needed to win in 4!
Congrats though, to the Rockies, who have built up a good young team, and if the front office can keep them together, they should be tough for the next few years. Gotta give credit to any team that can reel of 21 wins in 22 games.
The Red Sox were just a little better when it counted, that's all.

Rockies are in deep Do Do, down 3-0 in the 7th, game 4. They've only scored 4 runs in 3 games, hard to win that way.

I believe I heard last night on ESPN that 18 of 22 teams that won the first 3 WS games also won the 4th. Momentum...
Fact is that even though they hit a little rough patch in the 2nd half, Boston compiled some pretty awesome stats and was the winningest team, along with Cleveland. Right now their offense is on a roll.

I am shocked how inferior the Rockies look. They truly seem like they do not belong.
This is proving to me again that the NL is inferior to the AL, and the Cards win last year was a fluke.

Red Sox get 6 runs in the 3rd inning and chase Josh Fogg. Dick-K becomes the first Japanese pitcher ever to drive in runs in a World Series with a 2-run single.

I can see that happening sdudzinski. Dice-K and Lester are more breaking ball type pitchers as opposed to power type pitchers, so, the rare air of Colorado will certainly affect them.
I expect this to come back to Boston with the Red Sox up 3 games to 2.

It was nice to see Beckett, Schilling and the Sox bullpen pitch the way they know they can in both games.
With Francona sitting because there is no DH in Colorado, will the Rockies have a better chance?

Supposedly the book on Holliday is he likes to steal on the first pitch with 2 outs & Papelbaum never tries to hold the runner from stealing since he'll get the batter out anyway. So he took a little more time to lull him off the bag. It was the 8th, not the 9th inning.

Well, the Rocks were at least able to slow down the Sox' bats, but weren't able to get going at the plate. They were fortunate to give up just 2 runs, after giving up a lot of walks.
What was Holliday doing off first in the 9th inning? There's NO excuse to end a game like that!
I don't see a sweep, but I can't see the Rocks coming back either. They'll take one or two games in Denver.

Beckett strikes out the first 5 in a row and Pedroia kicks off the Boston bats with a lead-off homer against "the best" pitcher that the Rockies have.
The Sox had a good couple days of rest, but remain in good form after a nice 3-game win streak to come back and take the ALCS.
Just too much time off for the Rockies. The bats are cold and they just didn't have the pitching. Game 2 could be a different story. A lot depends on which Schilling shows up. Is it the one who lost his first start in the ALCS, or the one who won his second start and looked good in doing it? Plus, do the Sox bats continue on their roll. A lot will be answered as we head to the top of the 2nd inning.

Not so hot anymore. This game couldn't have gone worse for the Rocks, or started worse. Beckett shuts them down 1-2-3 in the first and the Sox immediately get 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. There wasn't much point in watching after that. Sox win 13-1.
That long layoff certainly didn't help, but with the way the Sox' bats are going right now, the Rocks weren't going to win Game 1 anyway.
The Rockies better at least show some fight in Game 2, or I fear a short, one-sided series.

Well, we'll find out how "hot" the Rocks are right off the bat - how'd you like to take over a week off, than come back and face Beckett in your first game.

Wakes is battling a gimpy back, so that's not surprising, and with the run into the wall the Crisp took to end game 7 of the ALCS, that's not all that surprising either.
Lester will take Wakes' position in the rotation and Ellsbury will fill in more than capably for Crisp.
