torn8: if we had started R&D into alternatives in the 1970s we would never have come to the point where we are using EtOH from GMO corn produced on ginormous monocultured areas that have swalled the American farmland.

Good for QT. I have always liked their stores and the diesel they sell is usually pretty good, too.

RIGHT ON QuickTrip!!! Good for you. I sure hope the rest of the outlets in the US refuse to handle it also. Why EPA?? The farming lobby sure must be spreading the money around.

HOOray Bout time some of these oil Co's tell the gov. (EPA in this case ) go jump in da river. These MORON's want us to use less crude and then try to stuff some nincompoop idea like this down our craws -- again. The more ethanol the less the vehicles goes on a gal of "the Mix" . Some of these Sierra Club clowns need to wake up . Maybe we need to take away their vehicles and let em walk or ride a bicycle.

Contact your Congressman and Senators to get behind stopping E15. If this is successful then we can work on getting rid of E10, at least as far as mandated use goes. When the diesel fuel used to plant, cultivate, harvest, transport, and process the corn is taken into account along with lower fuel mileage, ethanol actually increases the use of petroleum. Since is also causes food prices to rise, ethanol is a lose-lose-lose situation.

If you use E-15 or anything else with ethanol your mpg will drop! I am lucky enough to live near an ethanol free station.

Maybe this is a devious plan to make us get rid of any vehicle that can't use E15, or ruin the engine trying.

E-10 has already proven to destroy small engines by many experts and mechanics and now they want E-15 everywhere.
We need a balance of green energy and fossil fuels but Washington has gone too far on the green side.
Congress is Republican controlled now but the new Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats because they legislate according to their own personal financial portfolio. They are all snakes and they don't care about the average Joe US citizen.

If all gas stations would do this then it could put an end to corn gasoline. Unfortunately Obama can use executive order and make all sell it. After all he is the dictator in chief.

Way to go - QT!!! WE MUST VOTE THE RASCALS OUT!!!! Enough is enough, and this exceeds lunacy. E5 was bad and E10 was more than enough. At 33mpg (Hwy) on reg gas, I got only 28mpg with E5 and then went to 22mpg with E10. Compare these ethanol gas miles to what I got with 100% gas - same volume of reg gas. Note that it will require 1.12g reg gas in E5 mix to accomplish the same distance as 1.0g 100% gas! Even worse for the E10 gas. So there's NO RATIONAL BENEFIT. Go figure?? E5 w/.95gal reg = 28.0 mi 100% gas .95gal = 31.35 mi -3.35 mi for 1gal. E5 v.s. .95gal 100% gas
E10 w/.90gal reg = 22.0 mi 100% gas .90gal = 29.7 mi -7.7 mi for 1gal. E10 v.s. .90gal 100% gas
It's even worse when one considers other negative impacts. The ethanol gas mileage drops at a higher rate in hilly terrain than it does 100% gas. Also, passing in hilly country takes longer. This introduces a longer exposure to danger especially on 2-lane roads and on curves. I'm not happy with E10 at all and think it should be banned for this reason alone. I don't have any optimistic view for the E15 proposal changing this negative trend.
Another terrible il-founded idea! For sanity -- VOTE-EM OUT!!!
