I don't see this getting better until we start seeing heads of the petroleum companies going to PRISON for price fixing and racketeering, the industry is re-regulated or both. Let us not forget these very same companies were involved in horrible scandals that were fleecing the american public for over $300 million a day back in the seventies. This needs to be dealt with and it needs to be dealt with decisively. The thing is President Obama doesn't need congress to arrest these idiots for what they are doing. He needs to arrest them, charge them, imprison them and then they can trade on there lobbyist's in the republic party to try to get there freedom instead of helping them to maintain these ridiculous prices! These idiots are destroying this country in the name of greed. Families are starving, our infrastructure is collapsing around us, the value of our money is slowly eroding, and all the people can say in washington is that we can't do that that would be protectionist. Well guess what, this country was FOUNDED as a protectionist state, and during its best economic times it was a PROTECTIONIST STATE!

We have seen a continuing trend which has resulted in a thirty cent price increase over the past month. I haven't yet seen even one station that has posted a lower price than the day before throughout the past thirty days. Yet we learn that supplies are up substantially. It is almost like the oil companies are setting themselves up for a government takeover.

sadly, it won't translate to lower prices at the pump. Barrel prices were about the same last year, yet, pump prices were $1 or more lower.

I'll even give you the good news in the first couple sentences- I expect oil to close out this week under $80.
Sure $79.99... that's below $80.00

Makes no difference here the gas is up to 2.945 a penny a day which comes out to millions. They get you coming and going. This is now 6 straight days.

Kerosene prices have jumped $0.10 here this week, and I would bet they won't be going down anytime soon, regardless of oil prices.

vizilo -- I whole-heartedly agree with you. This temporary decline in oil prices will not last -- we'll be lucky if it last an hour, let alone until close of business today! With this weekend's subtle warming trend, I don't expect prices to dip more than a couple of cents, compared to the five to ten cent increases (almost daily) that have occurred since the beginning of the new year. Another cold spell will only make prices skyrocket upwards and compound the difficulties we'll have in paying our other living expenses.

Warmer weather in the Northeast?!? I'm in a suburb of Phila and I don't consider a high temperature of 44 degrees warm; true it's warmer than high's in the 20's in the past weeks but we'll still have the heater running.

The price is below $80 this morning. But I'm waiting to see if several reports that I've read which say the market is way overpriced right now. There is still too much supply for the demand (even with China's demand increasing). It will be interesting to see if the prices continue a downward trend to the mid $60's which is where several analysts are saying the market price really should be .
