Great arguments, but I am with the guy who promoted looking into the ones who conducted the "poll". It is safe to do a little research an make sure that the results are reputable.

tattoo666tx, this is a poll produced by the ethanol industry...
"The poll results come on the eve of the RFA’s inaugural Washington Legislative Forum being held tomorrow, April 18th, at the Newseum in Washington , DC where Attendees will hear from congressional and administration officials about legislative priorities outlined in the poll and the chances for any legislative action regarding these priorities in 2012. Following the meeting, RFA members will take to Capitol Hill to meet with dozens of lawmakers on issues important to America’s renewable fuel industry."
This is used to feed their propoganda and if you do a google search you can still find this poll used to spin their agenda...
Again, when you see a poll, see who sponsered it, regardless of what it's for...

If we go electric it would take a week to travel 2 or 3 states. LNG? No place to refill on the road. Ethanol? Crappy fuel mileage. Solar? No sun at night. Where did they find that 75%???

What difference do you think that would make?

GC. Finished the "Big Fix". It was top notch. I knew that oil companies has a lock on Congress, but the total amount of money spent on lobbing in oil states and Washington is out of control.
Is is no wonder that sooo many have come out against ethanol. A few million here and a few million more somewhere else and the brain washing is complete. Just look at the comments in here. Most people do not have a clue, they are only repeating what they hear.
Have you noticed the connection with big oil and big drug companies? Total domination. J.D. Rockefeller really laid the ground work and so far has succeeded in fooling a good part of America.
And the oil is still leaking in the Gulf! And the Dept. of Justice will not let any body near the disaster site. What a cover up! And what a scam! We are doomed!

I am for having a choice at the pumps as are many of the pro ethanol posters on this site. Have you ever heard of "Freedom Of Speech" ? Perhaps you have stumbled onto the wrong site?

Hanie59, glad to hear that ethanol is the only solution to go.. according to you... You live in a state and area that is able to choose e0, we don't have that choice...
It's unavailable here, unless you want to buy leaded fuel, then you can purchase e0 with lead... Nice epa protecting the people...

reb4, I have answered that question before regarding the vehicles I drive, but you have short term memory loss. So, I own the vehicles and run them on 30% to 40% alcohol in the tank at all times. When I am buying a new one, Hyundai won't be on that list unless they have an FFV sedan.
I got smart AFTER I bought these two. Fortunately, it's never to late to educate ones self!
And FYI, I used to buy your side's one liners and used to think ethanol was a boondoggle. Then I read and read and read only to learn that it is great for cars and our country to boot.

On the other hand, Toyota Prius Owners Manual states that Toyota want you to use E10.

reb, if you believe in choice then why are you pushing up old ethanol attack threads that are riddled with lies all the time? Do you believe in truth and facts? Do you believe in choices like do?
No reason all cars shouldn't be FFVs that are sold in this country and no reason E-0 shouldn't be available everywhere if you ask me.
When people try E-85 and don't lose 30% in MPG like the lies indicate, and can figure their own actual cost per mile, then the RFS will be met. Not by an escalating blend wall. And they will also realize that their engines are clean and running well not blowing up and leaking fuel like the other lies indicate.
Also remember reb4, e-15 was pushed as a choice fuel, not a mandate.

Americans what choice, not just ethanol... so lets talk about that, but evidently when they have the choice, they choose the oil based products...
Isn't that odd.
Maybe the ffv's should be filled up with e85 at the get go and a couple of coupons for e85 and people would start to use it...

and the ethanol lobby and ethanol blend wall is closing the e0 options. See how that endears ethanol to the rest of the country...

yes indeed. And no indication of lead in the fuel, and strange octane ratings, and what I found very unique, is that there were at least two of these pumps at the location... I've contacted the epa on this and will look into contacting the city of chicago as well.

reb4, This pump looks very interesting indeed. I usually see racing fuel or E85. Some gas stations converted from racing fuel to E85. This one offers both.
The only 110 octane E0 unleaded fuel I know is Shell Racing Fuel URT Advanced but I have a feeling this gas station is not selling it.

Again, there is a choice, but only if it's with ethanol, or unless it has lead in it.. which I am still not sure of since there was no labeling or notice on the pump...

silverstreaker,
From your epa link....
"E85 & Conventional Vehicles
Consumers should never use E85 in a conventional, gasoline-only vehicle. This can lead to a range of problems, including not being able to start the engine, damage to engine components, illumination of the check engine light, and emissions increases."
with regards to the prius, not the best but a whole lot better than the suv and ford mini van you are polluting with...
But spin it all you want..
By the way, you posted a site that is for e85.. how much do you splash in your two vehicles?

krzysiek_ck , no, currently I can not buy fuel for my car with no e0. And if you check the pump, it really is quite unclear that it would be for a vehicle that does not have a catalytic coverter. This might be due to the fact that they have diesel, e85, and racing fuel at the same pump.
Check out the last three pictures on the pump at this station..
Note the octane rating... 85 for e85.
Note the diesel rating (it was the 3rd fuel option)...
Note the big corn on bottom...
Note the e85 price - 3.99
There is no warning at the center of what could be used.. or that I could damage my vehicle on fueling for any of the fuels offered...
But hey, spin it as you like..

reb4, correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like you are spinning your tune from "can't buy E0" to "won't buy E0". Also, if you are so interested in your emissions, you should put as much ethanol in your vehicles as you can. According to the US EPA:
"E85 can also provide important reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
EPA's stringent Tier II vehicle emission standards require that FFVs achieve the same low emissions level regardless of whether E85 or gasoline is used. However, E85 can further reduce emissions of certain pollutants as compared to conventional gasoline or lower volume ethanol blends. For example, E85 is less volatile than gasoline or low volume ethanol blends, which results in fewer evaporative emissions. Using E85 also reduces carbon monoxide emissions and provides significant reductions in emissions of many harmful toxics, including benzene, a known human carcinogen."
Now if you tell me that you don't care about your emissions, I guess that's just more of your spin.

There is nothing to spin. I have said that it only should be used by people that have a clue. I guess your statement maybe correct since you don't have a clue.
Finally, I'm still looking to get the answer to this question - reb4 are you planning to continue whine about the lack of E0 in Chicago area knowing fairly well that Toyota wants you to use E10?

If car owners want more choice (cars capable of using multiple alternate fuels or stations carrying more fuel options) they need to be willing to pay for the increased cost involved. Everyone would want a plug-in hybrid if they did not cost more than a normal car.

And wow.. you were burning the midnight oil (or is that ethanol)..
"You can give me a choice of ethanol, methanol, butanol, biodiesel, CNG,or LP, but you can leave out the gasoline."
Gamechanger, until then, how much gasoline are you using in your ford?
