One of my cars is black, the other is dark blue. I've had no issues with either one this summer.

So you prefer light red and light burgundy? LOL.

I prefer dark vehicles. However, they do soak up the heat. They do in the winter too.

I like dark colors like sonic blue and royal blue. White vehicles look really bad with rust and black vehicles don't hide dirt very good.

I like darker colors and don't care for the current popular pastel colors. Most popular colors are white, black and silver which I read will make your vehicle worth $300 more at trade-in time.

Very dark colors like black are a nightmare to keep looking good but some colors like the sonic blue (a dark blue) I have are reasonably easy. The very light colors like white will show dirt just about as bad as black does.
The darker colors are the most eye-catching if they are properly maintained while the very light colors just don't have the snap that makes someone want to look at them. I've seen white cars that had had some TLC devoted to them and they can look very good with 5-6 sealant/coats of wax to give the shine a bit more depth.
The best colors from a maintenance standpoint are the midtone colors like the gold color of my mother's Camry. That's why you'll see about a dozen of them in the parking lot.
As far as temperatures go, if you leave ANY color car out in the sun when it's 100 degrees out, you're gonna have a hot car. Remember, it's not just the color of the car, it's the glass that adds to heat buildup too. That's why many people use sunshades in their cars.

Most of the interior heat comes in through the glass. Interior colour has a lot to do with the absorbtion of that heat. Black interior = hot. White interior = not so hot but pretty dirty looking. When was the last time you cleaned white leather?

One of my cars is black, the other is a dark blue. I've had the windows tinted on both, and I use a sun shade on the windshield when its parked. Yes, the interior can be a little toasty in the summer, but its not intolerable. And the trade-off is that after a good washing and waxing, they look great and I can generally keep that look for a week or more.

I've had white and I've had black. Both look dirty when dirty.
A concern in the past is that grey (the most popular colour) blends in with the road surface or the rainy Vancouver sky.
But now daytime running lights are standard in Canada and if you can't see me you aren't looking.

I've had both. The darker they are the hotter they get, they are both going to get dirty & show it.

What is with the guy who thinks that bird poo looks better on lighter colors?

I buy dark colored cars all the time because I don't care for silver/gray/charcoal, white, black or any of the popular pastel colored vehicles. This summer has been a real scorcher but I still don't regret my choice of colors.

I prefer a white vehicle. In South Carolina dark colors (especially black) are extremely hot. Another factor is the pollen in our area. Every car turns green, but the dark colors really show it.

I owned a white car for years, it always got hot inside. I now drive a dark car with dark window tint and it gets hotter I think.
