Why You Can't Influence Gas Prices

Every time that gas prices take a jump, water-cooler talk increases and chain-letter-type emails circulate an idea on how to "strike back" at oil companies, which supposedly are responsible for the high price of gasoline and are earning unfair and excessive profits at the expense of consumers.

I am looking at the big picture my friend, and if they truly listen to us, take the advice and change to work for all of us instead of just themselves, it'll be better for all of us and them too! And they'll make a few extra dollars in the process and bring down oil and gas prices as well for a time. And actually, I advocate a solar panel and solar hot water heater on nearly every home in this nation, Mexico and elsewhere. I've had them and they pay for themselves too!

I can appreciate what your saying but. Lets look at big picture if we all stop buying we cut out profits of big companies . If we stop buying homes that have only oil or gas heat , or if we make forestry plant more trees an in cities stop the cutting of tres an paving of lots,Lets be serious here we can demand governments make new home builder put in a solar panel system that wll heat water as well as some home energy. No reaso this can't be done as we can power otherthings with solar panels . I keep my eletric trolling motor batteries solar powered. this cuts down on some polution an emmissions. be real an say know to high gas price if have fuel in vehicle then wait till price drops as we all know after weekend it does , Buy 5 gallon Jerry can an when fuel is lower fill it when higher you can drive buy pumps knowing have that cheaper 5 gal. in storage
My thoughts

We can and are and will influence gas prices, but only in a unified and multifaceted movement!

Here's the link for the petition for more drilling! Go and sign it people and join the boycott against Exxon while you have time! They won't sell their stations by Monday! They probably won't sell them within a week! Nor even within a month!

We also need to push for more fuel efficient vehicles, more development of alternative energy sources, conversion of coal into gas, oil, natural gas and diesel and while your at it, modify your vehicles and your driving habits to get better fuel efficiency. One thing alone will not work! Nor will a one day, weekend or week long boycott work alone. It has to be long term on the boycott and short and long term on the solutions. Drilling alone will not work entirely.

And something else, less energy used is less pollution. The green leaning or living people need to get involved as well.
