There are some people who treat it as a competition. I think it's fine to just deny those.

jrsva - Mine was not working a few days, when I want to click on "Deny." I just tried it again a couple of moments ago and it worked. So, it seems that someone other than me wrote a message to the GasBuddy admin and/or moderator regarding the issue...Speaking of the person who sent me a buddy request, it seems that the person was sending thousands of requests in one day and throughout as many of the GasBuddy web sites that the person found. Obviously wanted to be buddies with those who have lots of total points. I just sent a message on the person's white board explaining that I am only choosing to be GB buddies with only those who I have met and are from my area.

My Incoming Buddy Request section has icons for Accept, Deny, Ignore. How is it that yours is different? I’ve often wondered if clicking ‘Deny’ sends a message to that member or just clears the name from my page. I’ve been pretty liberal with accepting buddies. I look at the profile page and then accept unless the person seems like a wacko I don’t want to associate with.

"Ignore" is better so they can't keep on repeatedly sending you requests.

I imagine Ignore = Deny.
